The Ukrainian mining and steel producing company Metinvest Holding (Metinvest) has issued the production results of its iron ore subsidiaries for the first three months of 2009.
Accordingly, in January-March 2009, Metinvest iron ore subsidiary Central GOK (CGOK) registered a 40.5 percent decrease in its concentrate production, but a 9.8 percent increase in its pellets output, both compared to same period of 2008. The respective figures in metric tons were 991,600 and 580,500.
During the first three months of 2009, Severniy GOK (SevGOK) produced 2.934 million mt of iron ore concentrate - down 16.4 percent year on year, and 1.993 million mt of pellets - down 29 percent.
Meanwhile, Metinvest's Inguletskiy GOK (InGOK) in the first quarter of 2009 registered a 33.2 percent decrease year on year in its concentrate output, to 2.442 million mt.
