Ukraine’s Ilyich issues 2009 output data

The Ukrainian flat steel producer Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol (Ilyich) has issued its preliminary production results for 2009.

Accordingly, in 2009 Ilyich reduced its finished steel product output by 28 percent and its pipe production by 58.2 percent year on year, to about 3.08 million mt and 39,700 mt respectively. Ilyich's crude steel production decreased by 23.4 percent, its pig iron output by 19.7 percent and its agglomerate production by 29.2 percent, compared to 2008. The respective figures in metric tons were 4.286 million, 3.609 million and 8.061 million.
