Ilyich’s crude steel output down sharply in April from March

In April this year, the production results of Ukraine’s Ilyich SW, which belongs to the Metinvest international group of companies, weakened considerably.

Accordingly, in April its crude steel output decreased by 37.8 percent month on month to 234,000 mt, while its production of pig iron fell by 20.8 percent month on month to 339,000 mt. In the finished steel segment, in the given period output decreased by 25.5 percent compared to March to 236,000 mt.

In the January-April period this year, Ukraine’s Ilyich SW produced 1.286 million mt crude steel, down 1.5 percent year on year, with a drop of eight percent year on year in pig iron output in the given period to 1.43 million mt. Its finished steel production totaled 1.115 million mt, down 2.3 percent year on year, SteelOrbis has learned.
