Ukraine ups steel consumption in Q1 2008
According to preliminary information issued by the Ukrainian Association of Metal Traders, in the first three months of 2008 the country increased its steel consumption by 9.4 percent year on year to 2.4 million metric tons. Meanwhile, during the period in question, imports of steel products to Ukraine increased dramatically - i.e. by 63.7 percent year on year to 559,093 metric tons.
