Ukraine imports $1.61 billion worth of coal in Jan-Nov

In the January-November period of 2014, Ukraine imported $1.61 billion worth of boghead and anthracite coal, according to the data provided by the Ukraine's Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.

The main suppliers of coal to Ukraine were Russia, the US and Kazakhstan. Russia supplied $1.06 billion worth of coal, with the US supplying $0.03 billion worth and Kazakhstan supplying $0.09 billion worth. Other countries supplied $0.14 billion worth of coal.

Boghead and antracite coal exports for the period totaled $513.77 million.

In 2013, Ukraine imported $1.97 billion worth of coal, while its exports reached $0.73 billion. 2012 saw imports at the level of $2.63 billion, while exports totaled $0.6 billion.
