UK basic metal output index up 0.1 percent in February from January

According to a report released by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS), in February this year the UK's seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing decreased by 0.1 percent compared to January and was up by 3.3 percent year on year. According to the ONS, in the December-February period, the country’s seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing rose by 2.1 percent quarter on quarter and increased by 3.4 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, in February the production index for basic metals and metal products showed zero growth compared to the same month of the previous year and was up 0.1 percent compared to January. In the December-February period, the production index for basic metals and metal products grew by 2.4 percent compared to the previous quarter and increased by 1.7 percent year on year.
