According to a report released by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS), in August this year the UK's seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing decreased by 0.2 percent compared to July and was up by 1.3 percent year on year. According to the ONS, in the June-August period of this year, the country’s seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing rose by 0.8 percent quarter on quarter and increased by 1.5 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in August the production index for basic metals and metal products increased by 1.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and was up 0.8 percent compared to July. In the June-August period of this year, the production index for basic metals and metal products rose by 0.8 percent compared to the previous quarter and increased by 0.9 percent year on year.
