Ugine & Alz announces price increase

France-based stainless steel producer Ugine & Alz announced that it would increase base prices of stainless steel products by Euro 50/ton effective as of February and by a further Euro 50/ton effective as of March 2006. The company cited strong demand as the reason for the base price hike. The company said in a statement that “In spite of these two price increases, stainless steel base prices will remain at historically low levels”.
