Turnover in German construction industry up 2.8% in Feb

As reported by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the total price-adjusted value of orders received by building construction and civil and underground engineering enterprises in Germany decreased by 1.8 percent in February this year compared to the same month of 2012.

In February, building construction demand in Germany decreased by 5.1 percent, while demand in civil and underground engineering was up by two percent, both on year-on-year basis. The total turnover in building construction in Germany amounted in February this year to around €4.4 billion, indicating an increase of 2.8 percent compared to February 2012.

In the first two months of 2013, new orders in German building construction decreased by 1.5 percent, on year-on-year basis. The total turnover in building construction in Germany amounted in the first two months to around €8.3 billion, indicating an increase of 4.1 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
