Turkish wire rod exports down 40 percent in Jan from Dec

According to the statistics released by Turkey's Steel Exporters' Association (CIB), in January this year Turkey's total wire rod exports amounted to 80,451 metric tons, decreasing by 40 percent month on month and up 44.2 percent from January 2011.

Meanwhile, the revenue generated by Turkey's wire rod exports in January totaled $53.9 million, increasing by 44.3 percent year on year and down 40.85 percent compared to the previous month.

 

In January, Turkey's wire rod exports to the US decreased by half, while Turkish mills increased their focus on the Brazilian and Singaporean markets.
