Turkish metal producers’ sales prices up 1.1% in Mar over Feb

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 0.8 percent from February and was up 2.3 percent year on year, while an average rise of 4.2 percent was registered for the latest twelve months.

In March, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry rose by 1.1 percent month on month and was down 6.7 percent compared to March 2012. Meanwhile, the average change in the PPI for the latest twelve months was -4.5 percent.

On the other hand, during the given month, the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, rose 0.25 percent compared to the previous month and was down 2.1 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 0.1 percent in the PPI index was registered in the latest twelve months.
