Turkish metal producers' foreign sales prices dip 0.2% in May from Apr

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in May this year Turkish producers' foreign sales price index (PPI)* in general decreased by 1.62 percent from April and was up 15.93 percent year on year, while an average rise of 15.03 percent was registered for the latest 12 months.

In May this year, the foreign sales prices of producers in the Turkish domestic basic metal industry decreased by 0.20 percent on month-on-month basis and were up 11.06 percent compared to May 2013. Meanwhile, the average increase in prices for the latest 12 months was 8.13 percent.

On the other hand, in May of the current year Turkish producers' foreign sales prices for domestic manufactured metal products, except machinery, fell 1.37 percent compared to April and were up 16.20 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 16.23 percent in prices was registered in the latest 12 months.

*Foreign sales price index indicates changes in Turkish producers' prices for other countries.
