Turkey's basic metals turnover index falls further in May from April

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), Turkey's monthly industrial turnover index in May this year increased by 16.2 percent year on year and was down 1.5 percent month on month, following the 17.2 percent year-on-year increase recorded in April.

In May, the industrial turnover index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey increased by 13.9 percent year on year and registered a 3.6 percent fall from the previous month, after a decrease of 0.9 percent in April compared to March. In May of the current year, the industrial turnover index for fabricated metal product manufacturing, except machinery and equipment, in Turkey increased by 17.2 percent year on year and decreased by 2.4 percent from the previous month.
