On February 13, members of a Turkish steel sector delegation visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and exchanged views with Pakistani counterparts on exploring opportunities for mutual cooperation.
During their visit, the delegates said that they had come to Pakistan to explore the potential of the Pakistani market for import and export of steel products, adding that Turkish entrepreneurs consider Pakistan as a potential market, especially in steel sector. According to local media sources, foreseeing the immense demand of steel in Pakistan during the next few years due the Pakistani government's plans to construct mega hydroelectric power projects and infrastructure projects, Turkish investors have started looking for opportunities for investment in the country.
A Turkish steel industry assessment mission will visit Pakistan in early March to obtain first-hand knowledge of available business and investment opportunities and to meet people from the industry to initiate joint ventures.
