In the January-September period of the current year, Turkey's welded steel pipe exports increased by 0.68 percent to 1.38 million metric tons, while the value of these exports totaled $972.8 million, decreasing by 13.45 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the statistics provided by Mehmet Zeren, the general secretary of Turkish Steel Pipe Manufacturers Association (CEBID) during the second SteelOrbis Market Talks Meeting held on October 22.
In the January-September period, the largest export markets for Turkish welded steel pipes were the US, Iraq and the UK. In the given period, Turkish steel pipe exports to the US increased by 12.72 percent to 248,924 mt, while its exports to Iraq rose by 1.24 percent to 227,200 mt and exports to the UK decreased by 12.75 percent to 174,332 mt, all year on year. Meanwhile, in the same period, Turkey's steel pipe exports to Egypt increased considerably.
