Turkey’s steel billet exports down 39 percent in July from June

According to the data provided by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), in July this year Turkey's total steel billet exports amounted to 185,876 metric tons, decreasing by 10.41 percent year on year and down 39.3 percent compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $128.6 million, increasing 10.31 percent compared to July 2010 and down 37.9 percent month on month.

In July, the average export price of Turkish steel billet amounted to $692.15/mt, increasing by $15/mt or 2.22 percent from June.

In the month in question Turkey's steel bilet exports to Saudi Arabia decreased 80.45 percent, while its steel bilet exports to Syria increased 460 percent, both compared to June this year. Egypt's steel imports from Turkey remained unchanged from June levels.
