Turkey’s scrap imports up 22.66 percent in Apr over Mar

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year Turkey's steel scrap imports rose by 22.66 percent compared to March and were up 41.3 percent compared to the same month of 2011, amounting to 2.06 million metric tons.
 
According to the data released by TUIK, in April the average price of Turkey's steel scrap imports stood at $445/mt, falling $5/mt compared to the previous month and remaining stable compared to April 2011.
 
Meanwhile, in the first four months of 2012 Turkey's scrap imports amounted to 7.4 million mt, increasing 18.75 percent compared to the same period last year.
