Turkey’s Koc Metalurji, a steel producer based in the Iskenderun region, will temporarily halt its crude steel production on April 7. According to sources, the shutdown will last one month for now, but the period may be extended to three months depending on the market situation and developments regarding the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

Koc Metalurji has a liquid steel capacity of 1.2 million mt at its steel mill based in Osmaniye and a 550,000 mt of rebar production capacity at its İskenderun-based re-rolling plant.
