Turkey's HRC exports down 24.66 percent in January

In January this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports decreased by 24.66 percent year on year to 85,951 metric tons, while decreasing by 31.94 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $50.27 million, decreasing by 24.36 percent year on year and down by 30.44 percent compared to December.

In January, Turkey's HRC exports to Thailand amounted to 24,906 mt, while no Turkish HRC exports to the country in question were recorded in January 2013. Meanwhile, in January of the current year, Turkey's HRC exports to Portugal increased by 203.13 percent to 13,674 mt, while HRC exports to Italy, which was Turkey's largest HRC export destination in 2013, decreased by 91.61 percent to 3,906 mt, both on year-on-year basis.
