Turkey’s hot rolled flat steel exports regress in May

According to the statistics provided by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), in May this year Turkey's total hot rolled flat steel exports amounted to 63,800 metric tons, decreasing by 38.57 percent year on year and down by 19.68 percent month on month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $45.34 million, improving by 10.58 percent compared to May 2009 and down 11.65 percent month on month.
 
On the other hand, in the given month, the country's cold rolled flat steel exports stood at 10,817 metric tons, down 37.98 percent year on year and higher than the previous month by 25.53 percent, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $7.5 million, down 17.69 percent as compared to May 2009 and up 16.73 percent month on month.
