Turkey’s hot rolled flat steel exports climb 72 percent in August

According to the statistics provided by the Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters' Association (IMMIB), in August this year Turkey's total hot rolled flat steel exports amounted to 54,842 metric tons, climbing by 71.78 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $36.7 million, rising by 142.75 percent compared to August 2009.
 
On the other hand, in the given month, Turkey's cold rolled flat steel exports stood at 17,099 metric tons, up 21.18 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $13.31 million, increasing by 68.64 percent as compared to August 2009.
 
Meanwhile, in the first eight months of this year, Turkey's hot rolled flat steel exports declined by 34.89 percent to 410,608 metric tons, while its cold rolled flat steel exports came to 99,490 metric tons, down 64.41 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
