Turkey’s crude steel output up 0.5 percent in January-November

According to a statement released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), Turkish crude steel output in November this year decreased by 0.7 percent month on month and was down by 2.1 percent year on year to 3.1 million mt.

In the given month, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces fell by 4.7 percent, while production by integrated plants increased by 4.3 percent, both year on year.

In the January-November period of this year, Turkish crude steel output rose by 0.5 percent to 34.4 million mt, year on year. In the given period, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces rose by 0.9 percent to 23.9 million mt, while production by integrated plants decreased by 0.5 percent to 10.5 million mt, both year on year.

In the January-November period of this year, Turkey's billet output decreased by 2.8 percent to 22.9 million metric tons, while its slab output rose by 7.8 percent to 11.5 million metric tons, both on year-on-year basis.
