Turkey’s Ministry of Economy has announced that it has repealed the regulation which allowed the introduction of safeguard measures specifically targeting products imported from China. The regulation, which entered into force in 2003, allowed the opening of a safeguard investigation specifically on goods imported from China where necessary. The regulation in question was never actually used to introduce a safeguard measure against Chinese imports.

Meanwhile, apart from the mentioned regulation which has now been cancelled, safeguard measures in Turkey are not country-specific and are implemented in general against all countries worldwide, including China, and will continue to be implemented in the same way.
