Turkey-based MMK Metalurji increases export sales in Q3

Russian steel giant Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced that its Turkey-based subsidiary MMK Metalurji's overall finished steel sales decreased by 30.6 percent quarter on quarter to 137,000 mt in the third quarter of the current year, while its finished steel sales in the first nine months of this year totaled 535,000 mt, falling by 20.6 percent year on year.

In the third quarter, the hot rolled flat product sales of MMK Metalurji amounted to 4,000 mt, decreasing by 60 percent, while its galvanized steel sales decreased by 24.5 percent to 113,000 mt, both on quarter on quarter.

The company said that it is offsetting lower domestic demand by increasing export sales to Europe and North Africa.
