Japanese automaker Toyota has announced that it has concluded the transfer of its Saint Petersburg plant in Russia to the Russian automotive research institute NAMI. The transaction price has not been disclosed.

Last year, Toyota decided to end vehicle production at its Saint Petersburg plant, having had to suspend manufacturing operations due to the interruption in supply of key materials and parts in 2022, as SteelOrbis previously reported.

The plant has an annual capacity of 100,000 units.
