Top iron ore exporters to China announced

In 2009, Australia, Brazil and India were again the top iron ore exporters to China, with South Africa, Ukraine and Canada strongly increasing their iron ore exports to this destination.

According to the data from China's General Administration of Customs quoted by official Chinese news agency Xinhua, Australia, Brazil, India, South Africa, Ukraine and Canada increased exports to China in 2009 by 42.9 percent, 41.5 percent, 18 percent, 140 percent, 150 percent and 130 percent year on year respectively to 260 million mt, 140 million mt, 110 million mt, 34.1 million mt, 11.6 million mt, 8.7 million mt.
