TMK, one of the world's leading oil and gas steel pipe producers, has run casing with TMK PF Premium Connections in both the onshore and offshore sections of a gas well at Novatek's Yurkharovskoye Field.
This well consists of both a vertical section, which is located in the onshore zone, and a horizontal section that is located offshore. TMK is the first Russian pipe company to run a string in this type of well. The total depth of the run was 5,602 meters; the horizontal section was 2,740 meters. During the run there were no deviations from the parameters specified by the customer, and all of the TMK PF connections successfully sustained the bending load when transitioning between the well's vertical and horizontal sections.
"The experience provided by this run is unique for Russia, since it was the first time that Russian pipe was used in that type of well to run a string from its onshore section to the offshore zone," said Alexander Shiryaev, TMK CEO. "As a result, TMK has further advanced into the offshore drilling market, using its cutting-edge technologies".
