ThyssenKrupp to split steel unit

Changing market conditions promoted German steel producer ThyssenKrupp AG to announce that it would divide its steel unit into two independent sections this autumn. ThyssenKrupp's current steel unit, ThyssenKrupp Steel, will be split into separate carbon and stainless sections on October 1, 2005, the beginning of the company's 2006 fiscal year. The two new divisions will be known as ThyssenKrupp Steel and ThyssenKrupp Stainless.
