ThyssenKrupp reorganizes its units

German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp Group reorganized its steel units effective as of Saturday, October 1, 2005, company sources report. In line with the new organization, ThyssenKrupp's former steel unit, ThyssenKrupp Stahl, was split into separate carbon and stainless sections as of October 1, 2005, which marks the beginning of the company's 2006 fiscal year. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, ThyssenKrupp originally announced in August 2005 its plans regarding the reorganization. The two new divisions will be known as ThyssenKrupp Steel and ThyssenKrupp Stainless, the former of which will focus on carbon flat steel.
