ThyssenKrupp Nirosta installs new A&P line

Germany-based stainless producer ThyssenKrupp Nirosta has confirmed to SteelOrbis that it has installed and put in operation a new annealing and pickling line for cold rolled strips at its mill in Krefeld, replacing the one that was damaged in last year's fire. The new A&P line GBL3 has a production capacity of 250,000 metric tons of strips a year. In addition, ThyssenKrupp disclosed that the cold rolled line that was destroyed in the same fire last year is currently under construction. The company plans to start production at its newly built cold rolled line KL3 in autumn 2007. The new line is expected to have an annual capacity of 100,000 metric tons of cold rolled strips up to 1,550 mm wide.
