On April 26, the third phase of the Xingcheng Steel project in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province, was completed and put into production, according to local Chinese media sources. The project is the largest investment in Jiangyin's industrial history.
Investment in the phase in question totaled RMB 11 billion ($1.68 billion). The steelmaking facilities built within the scope of this project will have an annual capacity of 3 million mt of steel, including wide and thick steel plates.
