Thailand's motor vehicle output down 23.5 percent in 2014

In December 2014, Thailand's total motor vehicle output (excluding motorcycles) amounted to 153,669 units, down 3.3 percent year on year, according to a report released by the Thailand Automotive Institute. On the other hand, Thailand's motor vehicle output in the whole of 2014 saw a year-on-year decrease of 23.5 percent to 1,880,007 units.

In December last year, Thailand's motor vehicle exports totaled 96,146 units, up 1.35 percent year on year, while in 2014 the country's motor vehicle exports remained flat year on year at 1,128,102 units.

In December, the number of motor vehicles sold in Thailand's domestic market totaled 89,504 units, down 21.43 percent year on year, while in 2014 the country's domestic motor vehicle sales decreased by 33.73 percent year on year to 881,832 units.
