According to a statement released by Thailand's Ministry of Commerce, an antidumping investigation may be launched against hot rolled steel products from China upon the request of local companies in Thailand. In this event, the case would be the biggest antidumping case between Thailand and China historically as regards the total value involved.

China's export volumes of hot rolled products to the Thai market stood at $240 million and $80 million respectively in 2008 and 2009. So far, the ministry has not given any details regarding a possible investigation period and the specific products involved.
