Thai Sahaviriya Steel to increase output

Thai steel producer Sahaviriya Steel Group has announced that it plans to consolidate its companies from ten to five and increase production to meet rising demand. Sahaviriya Steel Industries, the flagship of the group will increase its annual steel production to 4 million tons this year from the current 2.4 million tons. Sahaviriya Steel will increase its hot rolled coil capacity to 3.2 million tons in the next year from the expected 2.6 million tons for this year. Another unit of the group, Sahaviriya Plate Mill Ltd will increase its production by 1.5-1.8 million tons. Annual production capacity of the company is currently 1 million tons.
