Brazilian slab producer Ternium Brazil said it developed a new slab transportation “re-engineering” process that will help the company reduce costs and increase productivity.

The company said the new process has resulted in an increase of the port slab loading process from 16,000 mt/day to 22,000 mt/day. Slab ship loading time was also reduced from 4.5 days to 3.5 days.

Ternium Brazil said it reduced the number of trucks used to transport slab by 30 percent, and reduced logistics time from 130 to 85 minutes.
