Luxembourg-based Tenaris, manufacturer and supplier of seamless and welded steel pipe products, has announced that it has acquired Texas, US-based Cameron International's sucker rod plant, equipment and assets located in the southern Romanian town of Campina.

Through the acquisition of the rod mill with an annual output capacity of 500,000 units per year, Tenaris will strengthen its presence in Romania. Tenaris' current rod production capacity will increase by approximately 20 percent with sucker rod manufacturing facilities located in Villa Mercedes, Argentina, in Pindamonhangaba, Brazil, and in Veracruz, Mexico.

The new facility will allow Tenaris to meet the growing demand from customers in Europe and the Middle East.
