Temporary tariffs to Ukrainian and Kazakh steel into Russia

Russian government concluded to apply protective duties to the bars for construction purposes imported from Ukraine. The duty determined to apply is 21%. At the same time galvanized sheet being imported from Ukraine and Kazakhstan is determined to be subject to an anti-dumping duty for a period of four months. The anti-dumping duty to apply for steel and non-alloy galvanized sheets of 600mm and wider will be 36.9% from Kazakhstan and 31.8% from Ukraine. According to reports these duties are planned to be temporary and Russia is currently in negotiations with the aforesaid two countries in order to bring their exports down to an acceptable volume voluntarily.
