In the first five months of the current year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by four percent year on year to 8.1 million mt, while the value of these exports moved up by 20.2 percent year on year to $6.8 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
In the given period, Turkey's long steel exports fell by four percent to 4.3 million mt, while its flat steel exports increased by 8.3 percent to 2.1 million mt, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-May period, the country’s semi-finished steel exports declined by 67.2 percent to 168,200 mt, year on year.
In May this year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by one percent to 1.6 million mt, with a value of $1.4 billion, up 20 percent, both year on year.
In the given month, Turkey's flat steel exports increased by 9.1 percent year on year to 495,500 mt, while its long steel product exports decreased by three percent year on year to 731,000 mt. In the given month, the country’s semi-finished steel exports declined by 50.4 percent to 39,500 mt, year on year.
