TCUD: Turkey’s steel export volume down 1.8 percent in H1

In the first half of the current year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 1.8 percent year on year to 9.7 million mt, while the value of these exports moved up by 21.2 percent year on year to $8.1 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).

In the given period, Turkey's long steel exports fell by 4.1 percent to 5 million mt, while its flat steel exports increased by 14.1 percent to 2.6 million mt, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-June period, the country’s semi-finished steel exports declined by 59.3 percent to 222,000 mt, year on year.

In June this year, Turkey's steel exports increased by 10.5 percent to 1.6 million mt, with a value of $1.3 billion, up 26.6 percent, both year on year.

In the given month, Turkey's flat steel exports increased by 42.3 percent year on year to 561,000 mt, while its long steel product exports decreased by 4.6 percent year on year to 658,000 mt. In the given month, the country’s semi-finished steel exports rose by 65 percent to 54,000 mt, year on year.
