Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Tangshan Iron and Steel Group (Tangsteel) has announced that its continuous HDG strip products have successfully passed tests in relation to the European Union directive 2011/65/EU on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances (RoHS). The tests were carried out by Geneva-based certification service company Societe Generale de Surveillance S.A. (SGS).

The relevant certification is expected to boost Tangsteel's standing with Chinese domestic white goods manufacturing enterprises and also help it obtain a higher share in the EU market.

The EU RoHS test concerns the following six hazardous components: Pb, Cd, Hg, Cr6+, PBDE and PBB.
