Sweden-based mining and exploration company Dannemora Mineral has announced that it has made its first iron ore shipment following the reopening of the Dannemora iron ore mine.

The shipment left the port of Hargshamn on Thursday, June 28, with a cargo of 17,000 mt of iron ore. It will be unloaded in Hamburg, Germany for further transportation to the German steelmaker  Salzgitter Flachstahl's steelworks.

According to Dannemora's statement, the planned crude ore capacity at the sorting plant has now been achieved, while fine-tuning of the processing equipment is still in progress. The annual rate of production will gradually be increased to 1 million mt during 2012.
