SunCoke Energy reports higher revenues but relatively stable net income in Q3

SunCoke Energy, Inc. today reported results for the third quarter 2018, with net income of $11.5 million compared to Q3 2017 net income of $11.6 million. Revenues in the third quarter totaled $364.5 million, compared to $339.0 million in the same quarter of 2017.

In the Domestic Coke segment, SunCoke reported adjusted EBITDA of $49.0 million, compared to $55.6 million in Q3 2017. Revenues for the quarter totaled $326.8 million, compared to $309.7 million in Q3 2017. Sales volumes in Q3 2018 totaled 1.012 million tons, compared to 975,000 tons in Q3 2017.

In the Brazil Coke segment, revenues were $9.7 million in Q3, compared to $10.9 million in Q3 2017. Adjusted EBITDA was $4.5 million during third quarter 2018, which is comparable with the prior period.

As for an outlook for the full-year 2018, SunCoke expects domestic coke production to be approximately 4.0 million tons, with Consolidated Adjusted EBITDA expected to be at the top-end of $240 million to $255 million.
