Sulb National Co. to start billet production at new plant in 2011

Saudi Arabia-based billet producer Sulb National Company has announced that the first phase of its billet plant, which is currently under construction in the western province of Saudi Arabia close to the commercial port of Rabigh, will start production in 2011 with an annual capacity of 300,000 metric tons of billet. The company stated that a provision has also been included for the production of stainless steel billets.
 
The company plans a further expansion with a similar capacity to start production by 2015. The total projected production will be 600,000 metric tons of steel billet per year.
 
The plant will use induction furnace technology.
