According to the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA), in February this year steel sales in Vietnam totaled 360,000 mt, up 130,000 mt or more than 50 percent compared to January, but still lower than the country's usual average monthly sales volume of 400,000-420,000 mt.

At present, inventory of finished steel products in the Vietnamese market totals 350,000 mt, while inventory of semi-finished products stands at 560,000 mt.

The VSA said that, influenced by the weakness of the domestic real estate market, domestic steel sales volumes will continue to remain at relatively low levels.
