Steel industry in Jiangxi sees gross profit of RMB 708 million in H1

The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) has stated that in the January-June period of this year the iron and steel industry in China's Jiangxi Province achieved an overall gross profit of RMB 708 million ($111.7 million). Meanwhile, the gross profit margin of the iron and steel industry in Jiangxi for the given period was 0.96 percent, far higher than the average national level.

According to CISA data, in the first half of this year the overall gross profit of China's iron and steel industry totaled RMB 2.385 billion ($376 million), down 95.81 percent or RMB 54.549 billion ($8.6 billion) year on year. In the given period, the gross profit margin of the overall iron and steel industry in the country was only 0.13 percent, compared to 3.06 percent in the corresponding period last year.
