Spain's motor vehicle output up 9.3 percent in 2013

In December last year, Spain's total motor vehicle output amounted to 134,988 units, rising by 13.93 percent year on year, according to the data reported by the Spanish Automobile and Truck Manufacturers' Association (ANFAC). Meanwhile, in 2013 Spain's total motor vehicle output reached 2,163,388 units, rising by 9.30 percent year on year.

In December last year, Spanish passenger car output increased by 6.37 percent year on year to 98,032 units. Meanwhile, in 2013 the passenger car segment achieved an increase of 11.69 percent year on year in output to 1,719,700 units.

The association noted that the increase in output volumes is still mainly driven by exports. In December, the country's motor vehicle export volume increased by 9.58 percent to 116,054 units, while the volume for 2013 rose by 8.72 percent to 1,879,974 units, both year on year.
