Sinosteel has invested over $850 million in Africa in past 12 years

At a press conference held on October 24, Chinese multinational Sinosteel Corporation revealed that the company has already invested more than $850 million in Africa in the 12 years of its operations on the continent.

Sinosteel currently has four subsidiaries in Africa, including Sinosteel Samancor chrome, Sinosteel South African Chrome Industry Co., Ltd, Sinosteel South Africa Ltd and Zimasco Holdings, which mainly operate in the fields of chromium ore exploitation, chrome metallurgy and in the relevant trading activity. Locals account for over eighty percent of the workforce at the abovementioned companies, occupying over 5,000 jobs.
