Siemens VAI to supply annealing and pickling line for Chinese mill

Austria-based plantmaker Siemens VAI Metals Technologies has announced that a consortium led by the company itself will supply an annealing and pickling line for Guanghan Works of Tiancheng Stainless Steel Products Co., Ltd. (TCSS), a Chinese high-grade steel producer.

The coupled annealing and pickling line to be constructed at the TCSS Guanghan location in Sichuan Province will have an annual capacity of 240,000 mt of cold strip in widths ranging from 800 to 1,300 mm and thicknesses from 0.3 to 3 mm and is expected to come into production at the end of 2013.

According to the statement, as the leader of the consortium Siemens VAI Metals Technologies SAS in Savigneux, France will be responsible for the project management and supervising the installation and commissioning. The annealing furnace and the pickling section will be supplied by European consortium partners.
