Hebei Province-based Chinese steel producer Shougang Jingtang United Iron & Steel Co (Shougang Jingtang) has announced that on November 8 its pig iron output reached a record daily figure of 24,689 mt, compared with the previous record daily output of 23,794 mt posted in July 2010.
Shougang Jingtang's two 5,500 cubic meter blast furnaces produced 651,538 mt of pig iron in October, exceeding the planned output for the month by 11,538 mt. In November up to and including November 8, the two blast furnaces produced 177,180 mt of pig iron which is 8,580 mt more than the planned volume for the period.
