January steel service center shipments increased again in the US but declined again in Canada, according to a report today from the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI).
US service center steel shipments in January 2018 increased 4.3 percent from January 2017. Steel product inventories increased 6.0 percent from January 2017.
Canadian service center shipments of steel products in January 2018 decreased by 0.4 percent from January 2017. Steel product inventories decreased 2.1 percent from January a year ago.
